Hey everyone, The unemployment rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $482,300, which is pretty steep. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for work and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor recreation is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Seattle about 15 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is decent.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. No regrets on my end..

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The school system is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
