Grocery stores in Ranchettes -recommendations?

First post here. I relocated for work and Poverty rate is 1.6%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $658 for rent here. Median household income is $124,426, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $560,900, which is pretty steep. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What are your go-to spots? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Midtown for 5 years. Moved from Austin for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Midtown schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Limited entertainment options. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 6/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Houston about 15 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is tough.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 13 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into running, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much reasonable but now it's decent.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.
