First post here. Crime rate is something to consider -Redby sits at 434.1 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Any advice would be great. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is decent in most areas.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Tampa about 3 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is solid.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Happy to answer more specific questions..
