OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely better than expected and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (East) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Limited entertainment options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Downtown for 1 years. Moved from Chicago for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Downtown schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Limited high-paying job options. And healthcare can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 8/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Downtown for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The outdoor recreation scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Rising rent and home prices

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Happy to answer more specific questions..

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Uptown area are underrated. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Midtown. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in engineering. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
