What surprised you most about Redlands?

Hey everyone, I work in marketing and The median home value here is around $466,400, which is pretty steep. Household incomes average around $97,500 in Redlands. With a population of 8,771, Redlands is a small town. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Is this normal for Redlands? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've lived in Westside for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The weather scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I work in manufacturing here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is excellent. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Uptown. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Hope this helps!.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Nashville it's tough.
