Anyone else feel this way? I've been here for 13 years and Property taxes are high but you get good services. Worth the trade-offs? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Bought a house here in 2018 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Phoenix about 14 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are manageable, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..
