Honest thoughts on life in Rockdale
Longtime lurker here, With a population of 5,455, Rockdale is a small town. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 14 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much reasonable but now it's decent.

I work in real estate here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is surprisingly good. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
