Is Rockdale still affordable?

Household incomes average around $47,550 in Rockdale. The unemployment rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 68--F, so the weather is moderate. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Let me know your thoughts. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in North. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in engineering. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
