Curious what people think. Just moved here 2 months ago and Poverty rate is 8.4%, which is pretty low. With a population of 71,411, Rogers is a smaller city. You can expect to pay around $1,182 for rent here. Rent is about $1,182/month for a decent place. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Anyone in a similar situation? The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from Houston about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 3 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in North for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- The pet-friendliness scene is average
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited high-paying job options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The school system scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a HR manager, 53, moved here 8 years ago from Austin. I've lived in South and Oak Park, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Nice parks and green spaces
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Dating scene is rough
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The food scene situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- South: Great for singles. average vibes, walkable.
- Oak Park: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$130K here.
**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'm a sales manager and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Sunset) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
