Career opportunities in Safford, AZ

Hey everyone, I'm single, late 20s, and Rent is about $976/month for a decent place. With a population of 10,217, Safford is a small town. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Anyone in a similar situation?

it depends on the neighborhood

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is decent in most areas.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Charlotte about 12 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are reasonable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Bought a house here in 2022 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much competitive but now it's solid.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
