What's it really like living in Safford?

First post here. Median household income is $65,727, which feels about average for the area. Homes are going for about $191,600 on average. Poverty rate is 10.6%, which is around average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Pros:
- Strong sense of community
- Plenty of shopping options
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Boring for young people
- Homelessness issues downtown
- Not enough green space
Am I wrong here? The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Came here for family and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The weather is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The food scene is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Seattle about 9 years ago. The main reasons were family and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Definitely worth checking out..
