OK so I work in food service and Homes are going for about $116,700 on average. Median household income is $16,052, which feels on the lower side for the area. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 8 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for weather and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The food scene is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
