Housing in San Martin compared to Los Angeles

I've been here for 3 years and You can expect to pay around $2,332 for rent here. With a population of 7,199, San Martin is a small town. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Does this match your experience? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 9 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into running, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in The Heights for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- The public transit scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The housing market is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much developing but now it's decent.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
