Relocating to Seguin, TX -pros and cons?

Anyone else feel this way? I relocated for work and Poverty rate is 12.7%, which is around average. It's a a smaller city city with about 31,789 people. The median home value here is around $227,000, which is actually reasonable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Am I overthinking this? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in North. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in finance. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Eastside for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- The pet-friendliness scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..
