Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Bought a house here in 2024 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Westside. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
