Day-to-day life in Seneca, SC

My family moved here when I was a kid. With a population of 8,910, Seneca is a small town. The median home value here is around $223,100, which is actually reasonable. You can expect to pay around $806 for rent here. Rent is about $806/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Pros:
- Low crime in most areas
- Good schools
- Strong sense of community

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Boring for young people
- Chain restaurants dominate
Has anyone dealt with this? Appreciate any input. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Sunset area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
