OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Greenfield. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in construction. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Asian.

No regrets on my end..

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The healthcare is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much growing but now it's tough.
