Shannon Hills housing prices -when will it stop?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm retired and Median household income is $69,413, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,277 for rent here. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Thoughts? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Bought a house here in 2020 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Salt Lake City it's decent.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely challenging and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Highland) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a electrician and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.
