Sheridan is underrated, change my mind

Been meaning to ask this. Rent is about $1,109/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $69,375 in Sheridan. Crime rate is something to consider -Sheridan sits at 175.1 per 100K. Poverty rate is 6.1%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Strong sense of community
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Poor road conditions
- Far from major airports
- Not enough green space
Let me know your thoughts. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a nurse, 31, moved here 10 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in Uptown and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The walkability situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for singles. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $60K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
