Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 11 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Riverside for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- The job market scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Raleigh about 1 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Summers can be brutally hot

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is underrated.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
