Smithfield is underrated, change my mind

Anyone else feel this way? I relocated for work and Rent is about $1,182/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Random thought, Poverty rate is 4.9%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. Thanks!

Cost of living reality check -Smithfield

Longtime lurker here, I'm retired and Rent is about $1,182/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $358,100 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Am I overthinking this? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Why I chose Smithfield over bigger cities

OK so You can expect to pay around $1,182 for rent here. Median household income is $110,182, which feels pretty solid for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Would love some local perspective. Cheers.
