Longtime lurker here, I'm retired and Rent is about $1,182/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $358,100 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Am I overthinking this? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Pine Hills. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Thai.
