Curious what people think. I'm a 32-year-old pharmacist and The unemployment rate is 1.3%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 8.5%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Appreciate any input. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Hope this helps!.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is average in most areas.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much wild but now it's hit or miss.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Westside) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
