Hey folks, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Homes are going for about $908,500 on average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Anyone in a similar situation? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've lived in Riverside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- The housing market scene is average
The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I work in engineering here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is solid. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
