Hey folks, I work in insurance and Rent is about $1,698/month for a decent place. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I'm a project manager and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good internet infrastructure
- The traffic scene is tough
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
