The good and bad of living in South Huntington

Anyone else feel this way? Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Poverty rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..
