Random thought, I'm a 27-year-old sales rep and Household incomes average around $114,743 in Southold. The unemployment rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Worth the trade-offs?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 14 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
