Best neighborhoods in Spencer

Longtime lurker here, I'm a college student here and Poverty rate is 8.0%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $795/month for a decent place. Median household income is $57,068, which feels about average for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Bought a house here in 2019 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Salt Lake City it's excellent.

I work in real estate here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is decent. No regrets on my end..

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much reasonable but now it's surprisingly good.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in East for 8 years. Moved from LA for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
education is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. East schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited high-paying job options. Road conditions need improvement. And dating scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 6/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
