Random thought, It's a a smaller city city with about 53,585 people. The unemployment rate is 1.0%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $452,400 on average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Would love some local perspective. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in East. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in construction. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like seafood.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for school and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The housing market is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Minneapolis it's better than expected.
