Median household income is $106,658, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $1,738/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $452,400 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Spring Hill sits at 122.4 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What are your go-to spots? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is decent in most areas.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 15 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in South for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- The job market scene is solid
The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a accountant, 51, moved here 14 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Uptown and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Friendly community, easy to meet people
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The cost of living situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for couples. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $70K-$90K here.
**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Riverside area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.
