Best areas to explore in Springfield?

Alright, We have two kids and With a population of 169K, Springfield is a mid-size city. Household incomes average around $45,984 in Springfield. The median home value here is around $165,200, which is actually reasonable. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Worth the trade-offs? The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Old Town. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in marketing. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
