Housing market in Springfield right now

Random thought, I've been here for 7 years and The median home value here is around $165,200, which is actually reasonable. Crime rate is something to consider — Springfield sits at 1,519.2 per 100K. Household incomes average around $45,984 in Springfield. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Strong sense of community
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events

Cons:
- High property taxes
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Boring for young people
- Not enough green space
Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The public transit is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..
