Springfield housing prices — when will it stop?
Longtime lurker here, I grew up here but left for a while. Homes are going for about $165,200 on average. It's a a mid-size city city with about 169K people. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cheers. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
