Been living here since 2018. Rent is about $2,643/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $123,691 in Springfield. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Appreciate any input. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I work in hospitality here and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market for my field is challenging. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Used to live on the Sunset side, now on the Springfield side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to LA it's solid.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value weather, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely improving and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Springfield) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Moved here from Atlanta about 14 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to pet-friendliness but It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from Denver about 9 years ago. The main reasons were school and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is average.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
