I'm a remote worker and Poverty rate is 11.9%, which is around average. It's a a smaller city city with about 69,926 people. Average temperature is around 43--F, so bundle up in winter. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Does this match your experience? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from San Francisco about 6 years ago. The main reasons were work and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 5 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
