Planning a move to St. Joseph -neighborhoods?

Hi all, The median home value here is around $271,100, which seems about average. Median household income is $77,765, which feels about average for the area. With a population of 7,805, St. Joseph is a small town. It's a a small town city with about 7,805 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much reasonable but now it's excellent.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Westside. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in marketing. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
