Affordable areas near Steele Creek?

My partner and I are Rent is about $980/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $331,200 on average. You can expect to pay around $980 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 5,861 people. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Lots of new development
- Active local events
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Limited nightlife
- Limited cultural events
People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'm a social worker and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is average and there's always something going on.
