Anyone work in healthcare in Stillwater?

So, I'm a remote worker and Rent is about $1,408/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 19,323 people. Median household income is $109,297, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $109,297 in Stillwater. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Is this normal for Stillwater? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Seattle about 11 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is cultural scene. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

The food scene here is improving. Tons of great Mediterranean places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
