Hey folks, I'm a remote worker and The median home value here is around $230,900, which is actually reasonable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What are your go-to spots? The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Bought a house here in 2017 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Bought a house here in 2021 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Boston about 15 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. No regrets on my end..
