Came here for quality of life and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The safety is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I work in legal here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is average. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Old Town) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely decent and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (North) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from LA about 11 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is challenging.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
