Anyone else feel this way? We have two kids and Rent is about $1,849/month for a decent place. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Any advice would be great. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Pine Hills for 8 years. Moved from Austin for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is improving - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not a lot of cultural diversity. Limited entertainment options. And community vibe can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 7/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Salt Lake City it's improving.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in North area are solid. Kids love it here.

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Eastside area are tough. Kids love it here.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The food scene is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.
