Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely solid and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Springfield) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The healthcare is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions
- The food scene scene is improving

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

Moved here from Dallas about 1 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to housing market but Good luck with whatever you decide..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. it's been a really good experience overall. Worth doing your research before committing.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much affordable but now it's tough.
