Random thought, The unemployment rate is 5.7%, which is about average. You can expect to pay around $1,097 for rent here. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I wrong here? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much developing but now it's decent.

I've lived in West for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Active local events and festivals
- The cultural scene scene is improving
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Phoenix about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is challenging.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..
