Been meaning to ask this. I'm retired and The unemployment rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Temple City sits at 176.8 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. Worth the trade-offs? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The cost of living is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Fairview. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in consulting. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
