How is Temple for outdoor activities?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Crime rate is something to consider -Temple sits at 279.8 per 100K. Homes are going for about $220,300 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Anyone in a similar situation? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from San Francisco about 4 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..
