Hey folks, I relocated for work and Median household income is $64,945, which feels about average for the area. The unemployment rate is 4.4%, which is about average. Poverty rate is 13.1%, which is around average. Crime rate is something to consider -Temple sits at 279.8 per 100K. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What would you do? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development.
