What Temple does better than anywhere else

Hi all, Just moved here 9 months ago and The unemployment rate is 4.4%, which is about average. Median household income is $64,945, which feels about average for the area. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. Has anyone dealt with this? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

I work in finance here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is better than expected. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The pet-friendliness is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Midtown for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- The food scene scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Highland area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Meadowbrook. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
