Cheapest neighborhoods in Terrell Hills?

Curious what people think. I relocated for work and Household incomes average around $217,800 in Terrell Hills. You can expect to pay around $1,154 for rent here. Poverty rate is 4.5%, which is pretty low. With a population of 5,050, Terrell Hills is a small town. Average temperature is around 69--F, so the weather is moderate. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Diverse community
- Low taxes
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Boring for young people
- Homelessness issues downtown

Came here for family and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The pet-friendliness is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 14 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into running, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in West. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in tech. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Southern.

No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much developing but now it's decent.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Old Town area are decent. Kids love it here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
