Topanga housing prices -when will it stop?

Anyone else feel this way? Just moved here 6 months ago and Homes are going for about $1,643,000 on average. The unemployment rate is 4.4%, which is about average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance! Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 40, moved here 9 years ago from Austin. I've lived in Greenfield and Highland, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The healthcare situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for remote workers. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Highland: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
