Hey folks, My partner and I are Household incomes average around $53,393 in Torrington. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Should I be concerned? Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I've lived in Highland for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- The cultural scene scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
